Survey Project

ABOUT THE SURVEY PROJECT

Thank you for your interest in participating in the CPPA survey project. The survey series is primarily targeting protective parents worldwide who have been in a family law court case attempting to protect a child from the other parent who is abusive or dangerous.  We hope that you will participate in the survey project to help us ensure that your experience matters. Each survey will have its own participation and exclusion criteria, please be sure that you meet the criteria of the survey that you would like to participate.

How it works

To participate in the CPPA survey project, you must fill out a one-time application form from which, upon approval, you will be assigned a unique identifier code that you will reuse for any future CPPA surveys in the project that you choose to participate in.  You will need to enter your case name and number in the application.  Your case name and number is only requested in the application, not the surveys.  They are requested for verification purposes, such as confirming that a case exists in the court system.

Confidentiality

Protecting your confidentiality is our priority, therefore we are utilizing a personal identifying code system.  The code will allow for your personal information to be stored separately from your survey responses.  When you participate in a particular survey, you will use your code, not your name.  We will be collecting emails as part of each survey, so you may want to use an email that does not reveal your identity.

The first survey in the series, is the Master Survey, which will scale many issues.  It is estimated to take approximately 30 minutes.  The majority of questions are multiple choice.  Subsequent surveys will target specific topics and systems allowing us drill down deeper into child safety related matters in the context of child custody cases.  If you select that you wish to receive information about future surveys, as well as updates on our work in your application, you will be added to our database to receive communications. You can also sign up on the CPPA website, by clicking the "GET UPDATES" button.

How data will be used

These data will be used to identify trends impacting child safety, in a positive or a detrimental way, that occur when there is a protective parent who is attempting to protect  a child from the other parent who is abusive and dangerous.

How eligibility is determined

To participate in the survey project, you must have actively attempted to protect your child or children from the other parent, who is abusive or dangerous, utilizing the family court system where child custody decisions are made.  Individual surveys will have it own criteria to determine eligibility.   Participants who have experienced suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or have been suffering from delusions in the past 90 days will not meet criteria in for any of the CPPA surveys.
